On July 3rd, 2025, Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics had the pleasure of participating in Cosmetics Innovations 2025, both as a sponsor and a speaker. The event, hosted by Premium Beauty News at the Auditorium Tour Pacifique in Paris La Défense, brought together leading industry professionals to explore the future of beauty.
Held under the theme “Advanced Beauty – Horizon 2030”, the conference brought together top French and international players from the cosmetics industry to anticipate the major transformations ahead. Topics such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, personalization, longevity, and sustainability sparked thought-provoking discussions through a rich program of conferences, roundtables, and expert panels.
Three pillars to shape the future of beauty
The day’s agenda was structured around three major themes, reflecting key evolutions in the cosmetics sector:
- Smart Beauty – How technology, biology, and formulation are merging to create smarter, more efficient, and more adaptive cosmetics.
- Reconnected Beauty – A more conscious, human-centered approach to beauty, grounded in transparency, sensoriality, inclusion, and sustainability.
- Ageless Horizon – A new vision of longevity and holistic wellness driven by neurocosmetics, preventive care, and advanced nutrition.
Presentations from companies such as Mintel, LVMH, Sisley, L’Oréal, Aptar, NUXE, Perfect Corp, Codif, and Cambrium offered a forward-looking and pragmatic overview of tomorrow’s innovation landscape.
Our spotlight session: hybrid beauty, a defining shift
The afternoon focused on Reconnected Beauty, dedicated to more human and mindful approaches. Within this context, Angélique Durigo, our Director of R&D and Industrialization, delivered a compelling talk on:
“Skinification, Sunification: Why Hybrid Beauty Is the Future of Beauty”
Her keynote presentation captivated the audience by highlighting two transformative trends reshaping the industry:
- Skinification – The application of skincare principles (anti-aging actives, peptides, probiotics, etc.) across all cosmetic categories – from body care to haircare to makeup. The goal: technical, effective, and sensorial formulations that treat the entire body with the same precision as the face.
- Sunification – The invisible yet essential integration of sun protection into daily beauty routines. As UV exposure is the primary factor in visible skin aging, photoprotection is evolving into a daily urban gesture, seamlessly embedded into foundations, lip glosses, setting sprays, and serums.
Hybrid Beauty: convergence & technical challenges
These two dynamics converge to form the foundation of hybrid beauty, where care and color, efficacy and pleasure, pharma and cosmetics are no longer separate.
Angélique Durigo also addressed the formulation challenges of hybrid products – including ingredient compatibility, galenic stability, and skin tolerance – and outlined several innovation levers: advanced textures, biomimetic filters, artificial intelligence, encapsulation, and microbiome- or DNA-driven personalization.
