Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics is proud to announce the completion of its newest strategic investment: a cutting-edge 500m² liquid manufacturing unit at our production site in Saint-Langis-Lès-Mortagne, Normandy, France.
This expansion is a key step in our mission to deliver high-performance pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing services to our clients around the world.
Liquid Manufacturing Unit: Key Technical Features
Designed for large-scale, non-sterile liquid production, our new unit is equipped to handle 20,000-liter batch sizes with exceptional precision and safety.
- Surface area: 500 m² dedicated space
- Batch size: 20,000 L
- Estimated annual output: up to 4.5 million liters
- Viscosity capability: up to 15,000 cP
- Construction period: October 2023 to June 2024
- Investment amount: €3,235,000
At the heart of the unit lies a high-performance three-axis mixer, featuring:
- Rotor/stator mixing
- Central anchor agitation
- Counter-rotating blades
- Internal ATEX Level 1 certification
- Double-jacket design for efficient heating and cooling
- Clean-In-Place (CIP) system for safe and automated internal cleaning
- Connection to finishing lines handling containers from 1 ml to 1,000 ml
This system guarantees consistent mixing quality, even at high viscosities, and supports a wide variety of pharmaceutical and cosmetics formulations.
A Milestone for CDMO Innovation
In April 2025, we completed the first successful pilot batch using this new mixer. Both density and pH values met our expected targets, matching those of our 4-ton benchmark.
This success is the result of a strong cross-functional effort between our validation, technical, and production teams—along with support from our trusted partner Goavec Engineering.
